Golden Black Rhyme

Residential Design Inspired by Oriental Painting

The Golden Black Rhyme residence, designed by Pei Chun Chiu, is a stunning example of a space that seamlessly blends elegance and fun. The inspiration for this design came from the client's favorite painting, an abstract piece full of oriental flavor. The goal was to create a space that fulfilled the client's desire for an elegant and enjoyable home.

One of the unique properties of this design is the use of the painting's golden and black color scheme throughout the space. Elements, materials, and furniture colors were carefully chosen to extend from the painting, creating a visually balanced and cohesive environment. The lines of the painting serve as a highlight, adding depth and interest to the space.

The realization of this design involved the use of various materials, including melamine board, quartz lamina, glass, wood, and steel. These materials were carefully selected to bring the designer's vision to life and create a space that is both visually stunning and functional.

The Golden Black Rhyme residence is a 212 m2 building spread across four floors. The first floor features a living room and an open kitchen, while the second floor houses the master bedroom with a locker room and bathroom. The third floor consists of two bedrooms, and the fourth floor is dedicated to the grandparents' bedroom and a shrine.

To maintain the original structure of the house, the designer incorporated an iron hanger with penetration on the wall of the first-floor living room. This hanger serves as a visual screen in front of the elevator and extends to the kitchen ceiling, integrating the air outlet and recessed light to enhance the overall atmosphere of the space.

The Golden Black Rhyme residence was completed in March 2019 in Taichung City, Taiwan. The design was meticulously researched to ensure maximum comfort for three generations living under one roof. Each floor was carefully designed to provide both shared spaces for interaction and private areas for individual privacy.

This exceptional design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. The Golden Black Rhyme residence stands as a testament to the designer's creativity, technical expertise, and commitment to improving the quality of life through innovative design.
